IN-HOUSE TRAINING
The courses are delivered in friendly surroundings by qualified staff/trainers. The courses are not designed to replace the ones offered in mainstream training or education. Grenfell offers short taster sessions as well as longer courses set out over several weeks, with the aim of introducing tenants back into the learning experience whilst teaching valuable life skills. The programme consists of various subjects including literacy and numeracy, communication, 'caring for myself', 'caring for others', social awareness, team work, leadership, creativity, problem solving and confidence building.
Grenfell is aiming to deliver the subject areas in innovative ways. For example we run a filmmaking course over seven weeks. By producing a short film learners will use skills such as creativity, problem solving, teamwork, leadership, confidence and communication. Other courses we run include passing the Driving Theory Test, Healthy Living, Planning a day out, Music Production and IT training. On completion of the programme and producing a portfolio, the learners will be accredited with a recognised qualification – the City and Guilds Learning Power Awards. As we are an ECDL Test Centre as well, learners on the IT course can progress to get the ECDL qualification after they have taken the test. IT students can also achieve the CLAIT qualification through us.

IT SUITE OR CONFERENCE FACILITIES HIRE
Our IT Suite is equipped with 14 state of the art P4 networked computers with DVD/CD rewriters and 17" TFT monitors. The computers run on Microsoft XP Professional and they all have Microsoft Office 2003, MS Publisher 2003, MS FrontPage 2003, Acid, Macromedia 2004 (i.e. Dreamweaver 2004, Flash, Fireworks, Freehand and ColdFusion), amongst other great packages. The network has broadband Internet access, and they are linked to a SmartBoard and projector. There are webcams available for video conferencing facilities as well. We also have four computers networked to a separate server for networking training.
The conference room can take 16 people seated in a conference style, or 25 in a seminar style. The conference room also has a SmartBoard and projector, flipchart, TV and Video Player. We also have a mini Music studio, and a Film Editing Suite.
